Joanna Zjawinska "Objects of Desire" Signed Limited Edition Color Seriagraph

Item Details

A signed limited edition color serigraph titled Objects of Desire by listed Polish artist Joanna Zjawinska, who grew up behind the Iron Curtain during the Cold War. Inspired by the works of Edgar Degas, John Singer Sargent, and Johannes Vermeer, Zjawinska is best known for her seductive and dreamy artworks of women. Objects of Desire features an elaborate black-tie event, centering on two elegantly dressed women who make direct eye contact with the viewer. Off to the right a group of three men enjoy the event’s offerings, while slyly eyeing the painting’s main subjects – the rest of the painting becomes blurred and abstract in shades of green, blue, orange, yellow, and black. The piece is ink signed by the artist in the lower right margin and is numbered 49 out of an edition of 250, which is written in the lower left. A certificate of authenticity is included on the reverse. The print has a black mat and is housed behind plexiglass in a gilded wood carved frame with a wire for hanging to the verso.
