Antique Cutler Desk Co. Roll Top Desk

An antique Cutler Desk Co. roll top desk. This desk is made of a dark mahogany stained wood. It has a traditional roll top cover with several drawers and shelves. There are four squared shelves across the top with a paper slot between them. Directly beneath that are a pair of wide drawers. On either side of the drawers is a vertical set of paper slots. Beneath the writing surface is a pen and accessory drawer. Along the side are three stacked drawers. There is a makers mark at the top center of the desk along the front edge that reads ‘Cutler’ and a more intricate makers mark in the accessory drawer that reads ‘Cutler Desk Co. Buffalo, NY’. Cutler and Son were cabinet makers that started production in the 1820s. By the early 1900s the company was known as Cutler Desk Co.
