A pair of Richard Munsell original oil paintings. Listed artist Richard Munsell (1903-1963), a New York born California painter, was known for landscape, portrait and figure artworks. The two pieces in this lot are portraits of Hardie Gramatky and Doppy Gramatky posed in front of window blinds. The hairstyles hint of a time period between the 1930s and the 1940s. Each image is signed ‘Munsell’ to the lower left corner. The oil on board works are housed in wooden frames, double matted in white and blue, covered in glass, and wired ready to hang. Munsell was the nephew of listed artist Pruett Carter.
