A signed Jack Demyan offset lithograph after Columbus Quincentennial. The full title of the work is Columbus Quin centennial – 1492 New York Harbor July 4 1992, and depicts events from the history of the United States in the 500 years since the landing of Christopher Columbus. The offset lithograph on wove paper is signed by the artist (1928-1999) in the lower right corner ‘To Gladys – Best Wishes – Jack Demyan – 10-15-97’. His last name is signed in the print to the right side ‘demyan – EH – 92’. The item is also marked ‘Painted By Jack Demyan Copyright’ to the lower left corner of the white border. The artist was called ‘Grandpa Moses’ by a Staten Island neighbor, and this Grandma Moses-influenced style is evident in the sometimes primitive figures seen in this work.
