An antique German JD Kestner large ‘Sammy’ baby doll with bisque porcelain head and composition body The doll is marked ’ Q Made in Germany 20 211’ on the back of her head at the edge of the wig line and ’JDK 20 near her neck. This cherubic baby features chubby blushing cheeks, sleep blue eyes, parted lips with a single tooth and hand painted feathered brows. The body features a painted wood composite body with fingers and toes complete. The hair appears to be a fine wig of tufted mohair. Includes a baby blue modern corduroy pant and jacket with hat.
Condition
- well cared for condition with hair worn with bare spots to the back of the head, paint worn from one lid off the eyes, and the dolls hips are loose all consistent with age and previous display.
