A large sterling silver flatware set by Towle Silversmiths. These are in the Old Master pattern, designed by Harold E. Nock and first introduced in 1942. Each features scrolling acanthus shoulders, bordered long narrow stems, and small exaggerated fiddle handles framed by acanthus leaves with a central floral motif. This set includes fifteen dinner knives with stainless steel blades, a cheese server, a cake server, a fish server, a large serving spoon, a slotted serving spoon, twelve iced tea spoons, eight salad forks, seventeen dinner forks, fifteen dinner spoons, three butter knives, a master butter knife, a jelly serving spoon, three assorted seafood forks, a small serving spoon, three serving ladles, three assorted mid-sized spoons, two large tablespoons, and four soup spoons. Each is marked on verso ‘Towle Sterling Old Master’. The total approximate weight, exclusive of the knives with stainless steel blades, is 78.36 ozt.
