An original oil painting on canvas of a baby by well-listed Massachusetts artist Emily Burling Waite (American, 1887 – 1980), who is best known for her oil portraits, etchings and still-life paintings. The painting depicts a smiling baby in a white garment against a blue and green background. It is unsigned but comes from the estate of the artist. Presented without a frame on stretchers.

Condition

- residue along the bottom where a frame used to rest; slight crease where stretcher edge hits the canvas; light paint loss right above the left of the baby’s head.
