An antique apothecary chest with twenty-three glass vials. Apothecary vials read ‘Arnica’, ‘Arsenicum Al, B’, ‘Belladonna’, ‘Bryonia Alba’, ‘Bryonia’, ‘Calcarea Carb.’, ‘Causticum’, ‘Chamomilla’, ‘China Off’, ‘Colocynthis’, ‘Hepar Sulph. C.’, ‘Ignatia Amara.’, ‘Ipecacuanha’, ‘Mericurius Vivus’, ‘Nux Vomica’, Rhus Tox.‘, ’Sulphur’, ‘Spongia Tosta.’, ‘Veratrum Album’, and ‘Furangis Tablets’. There are some multiples included in this lot. Each vial has a cork to top (most with an abbreviation printed to top) and a label showing the vials came from ‘Boericke & Tafel Homeopathic Pharmacy, 204 W. 4th St. Cincinnati’. Same label appears in label of box. Wood box has a lovely warm tone, lock and key, and brass plate to top for engraving.
Condition
Slight wear to box from age and use. Bottles show wear. Some corks have been broken or cracked. Please preview for best sense of pieces included. Lock no longer works.
