A M3 trench knife made by the company UTICA. The M3 Trench Knife was the primary combat knife used by the United States during the Second World War and were given out to soldiers who had weapons that did not require bayonets so they had some form of hand to hand defense. The company UTICA manufactured the highest number of M3 Trench knives of the nine companies during the war. The knife features a leather washer handle and a steel blade with the model and company stamped on the base of the blade. The sheath for the knife was the same used for the M6 bayonet to reduce cost by having only one sheath design. This piece features the original handle, blade and sheath with none of the pieces having been replaced.
