1887 Rookwood Pottery Handled Pitcher

An 1887 Rookwood Pottery handled water pitcher in standard glaze. The pitcher features a small spout and angled handle that are hand-painted in a gilt finish, and rounded body in medium brown to green to dark brown hues beneath the glaze. The front and obverse are decorated with handpainted blue and cream daisies. The base has an early marked to the verso with the incised Rookwood reverse RP logo, a single flame, production number 18, and “R” for red clay body.
