Vintage Arctic Fur Co. Chocolate Mink Stole

A vintage chocolate mink stole . This long stole is lined in the back with dark brown velvet with a ‘Master Furriers Arctic Fur Co. Cincinnati’ fabric tag, embroidered monogram patches, and a ‘GLMA Great Lakes Mink Association’ fabric tag. The GMLA was formed by breeders in the Great Lakes area in 1941, and became known for their dark ranched mink pelts, eventually trademarking a variety called ‘Blackglama’ a pelt that is naturally almost black, and merged with the Mutation Mink Breeders Association in 1986 to form the American Legend Cooperative.
