Vintage Jennings Silver Co. German Silver Mesh Purse

A vintage German silver mesh purse by Jennings Silver Co., active from 1915 to 1943 in Irvington, New Jersey. German silver is an alloy which mimics the properties of silver; however, it has no traces of silver in it. The purse features an Art Nouveau style frame embossed with lily blossoms and a cartouche left blank for a monogram. There is a bypass clasp to the top along with a chain handle. The rest of the body is a mesh link. To the interior, the frame is marked ‘German Silver J.S. Co.’
