Rookwood Pottery Signed "Sara Sax" Frog Flower Holder
Item Details
A Rookwood Pottery signed flower holder in the form of a frog. This frog is perched atop a mound of flowering lily pads and covered with a glossy brown, blue green and high glaze. It is signed by Sara Sax. Sara was born on November 1, 1870, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She joined the decorating staff at Rookwood Pottery in 1896 and worked there until 1931. The verso is marked with the Rookwood emblem and the roman numeral ‘X’ for 1910 along with the artist’s initials.
