Antique Musketoon

Item Details

An antique musketoon. This short-barrelled musket has a wooden body with metal hardware and firing mechanisms. It has a hinged sight and comes with a ramrod for loading the gun. It is stamped ‘Madrid 1861’ forward of the hammer. This style of shorter musket was preferred by infantry units due to it being easily carried.

Condition

- heavy rust and wear; som corrosion; split in the stock.
