An oil painting on canvas of an autumnal landscape, signed ‘Hurtado’. This work features a view of sloping hillsides receding to a distant horizon line. A slender tree with yellow leaves stands prominently in the right foreground. A single anonymous figure, dwarfed by the vast landscape, walks along a dirt path with a fishing pole slung over his shoulder and a bucket in his right hand. The dirt path leads the viewer’s eye to a partially visible red-roofed cottage with a smoking chimney. With impressionistic brushstrokes, the artist creates a sense of transient movement in the tree leaves and blades of grass. Signed to the lower right and presented in a ridged wood frame with a slight-gold tone finish, the work is ready to hang with picture wire to the verso.
