Set of Stippled Etchings after London Scenes
Item Details
A set of stippled etchings after London scenes on paper. A blue, pink, and white palette is featured in each work on paper. The largest piece, titled Somerset House In its Original State was done in October 1809. Somerset House, Strand was done in June 1809. The etching of ships on the Thames and near a bridge is titled Westminster Hall and Bridge. The works are housed in gold tone frames, covered with glass, matted and have hardware ready to hang. Westminster Hall is marked to the back with a label that reads ‘Raymond & Raymond – Incorporated – Fine Art Publishers – 40 East 52nd Street – New York 22’.
Condition
- foxing to large print and one of the smaller prints, and some of the painted black mats are flaking off and dirty.
