Original Jen Eastridge Mixed Media Painting "Tired"

Item Details

An original mixed media painting by Ohio artist Jen Eastridge titled Tired. This is a provocative statement by the artist on marriage equality. Comprised of oil on canvas with wood framing and a plexi-glass front. This thought-provoking testimony reads ’I’m tired of being bombarded by news every time I turn on the T.V. or radio, I hear hate. The newspaper and internet remind me of all the people who use faith as an excuse to attack me as I live my life. Using God as a reason to condemn others who aren’t self-replicated, seems to resonate of a fascist ideology. If you really think I am wrong – if you really think I sin by simply loving another person of the same sex, then bring on your Nazi soldiers, preach hate and violence, and know you can’t touch me. Your hate can’t hurt me. Know why? Because God made me too despite what you think, or refuse to acknowledge, my version or vision present a view of a good, loving and accepting God who’s got my back. So, leave me alone and let me live my life because I am tired. Oh, and before I let go… Ditch that ‘Hate the sin and love the sinner’ spiel. It fuels your sermon with a misleading concept that allows people to feel justified in judging others’ actions. Stop it, for I am tired’.
