An Edo/Meiji period Japanese suiteki (water dropper to mix ink for calligraphy) in the form of a cow in gray pottery with white and brown glaze. The reclining cow has a small hole at the back and a second at the mouth to dispense water from the mouth to mix paint or ink for calligraphy.
