A limited edition signed offset lithograph by artist Frank McElwain (born 1942) titled Cincinnati Celebrates the Fourth, Fountain Square 1917. This work depicts the Queen City’s famous Fountain Square in a historical context, illustrating a Fourth of July scene from 1917. American flags are seen draped from every building and along every cable, as the square teems with activity. The title of the work is printed to lower margin, and it is signed in plate as well as in pencil to lower right, where it is also numbered 268/375. The print is mounted beneath a layer of fabric matting with a gilt fillet, and is presented behind glass in a wooden frame with warm, natural finish and hanging wire present to verso.
