African Maasai "Lion-Kill" Spear

African Maasai ‘Lion-Kill’ hunting spear. This spear has long been the weapon of choice of the Maasai. It is used to defend cattle, community and the warrior himself against wild animals and invaders. Constructed from wood and iron, it is deemed to be the single most valued personal possession after livestock. This spear has a three piece configuration, the 33 inch heavy iron spear head and metal end were socketed at each end to the center wooden grip with hardened wax and will need to be re-fitted. The entire piece was hand crafted in Africa.
