Capiello Chromolithograph "Madame De Latude (GYP)"

A chromolithograph Illustration titled Madame De Latude (GYP) for Le Rire after Capiello. This print depicts an old maiden strolling by a group of trees smiling and looking down in a thoughtful pose that is ironically juxtaposed by her dour, long, black dress and head scarf. This piece is presented behind an ivory mat, under glass, in a gold tone wooden frame with a carved outer edge and a wire mount to the verso. The pieces is signed in plate at the lower right and has a caption in French to the lower margin. This piece was originally printed in May 1900 for Le Rire, a French weekly satirical magazine.
