An oil painting on canvas portrait of two girls by listed American artist Isabella Markell (1891-1980). Two young girls one brunette the other blonde, are depicted in matching pinafore dresses with a rose pattern design. They stand in front of a green wall, holding hands while the brunette haired girl holds a small blue purse in her right hand. A blue toy elephant and raggedy ann like doll are depicted in the background to the right and left of the girls. This piece is signed near the bottom left corner, the artist has signed this piece ‘I. B. Markell’. This painting comes presented in an ornate wooden frame, to the verso, a horizontal hanging wire is presented and this piece comes ready to hang.
