An oil painting on canvas portrait of a woman by listed American artist Alonzo Hartwell (1805-1873) created in 1864. A seated woman is depicted in 19th-century style clothing and hair style. The painting has varying tones browns with peach undertones being used for the woman’s face and lips. This piece is signed and dated near the lower left corner. This piece comes presented in a gilt tone frame with grape vine motif decorative corners.
Condition
- cracking in upper left corner of frame; discoloration along edge of frame; under UV light several pinhead size spot of retouching are present.
