Taisho Period (1920's) Wedding Kimono with Couching

A spectacular Japanese Taisho Period (circa 1920’s) silk wedding kimono in turquoise, orange, blue, gold and magenta pink. Illustrated with gold embroidery and couching are fans, tassels and flowers. The kimono has the traditional padded hem.

Condition

Some loose couching (gold wrapped threads) and one small area at the back that is lightly soiled. Otherwise the kimono is in very good condition having been stored properly folded in a rice paper sleeve.

Dimensions

Measurements refer to the kimono folded. With arms extended the kimono is 49" wide, 24" from shoulder seam to seam and 63" in length.
