An antique late 19th-century original oil painting on panel, signed faintly to the lower left by artist J. Williams. The image depicts a picturesque countryside landscape, home of a charming cottage nestled next to a pond and lush vegetation. On a worn dirt path near the foreground, a child and older companion walk hand-in-hand, taking in the arresting scenery. This painting is mounted in a beveled wood frame with opulent cast scrolled applique and moulding with a tarnished gold leaf finish.

Condition

- accretion on painting and frame. Pigments are lightly discolored, consistent with age. Finish of frame is worn. Moulding and applique of frame are cracked and chipped, but appear mostly in tact.
