A hand numbered, limited edition of Harvard Classics: Shelf of Fiction published by P.F. Collier. This 1917 printing has the all 20 volumes, bound in grey buckram with gilt and red lettering to the front and spine. The uncut pages are a heavy stock rag paper and smyth bound. They are hand numbered 4261 in red ink on the title page.
This collection is the 1917 ‘Shelf of Fiction’ from the Harvard University Classics series. The selections, like those of Classics, were made by president Charles Eliot and professor William Neilson.

Slight edgewear in keeping with age; some aging. Pages all appear to be clean and tight, and covers are in very good condition. These volumes show very little wear.
