Giclee After Carl Spitzweg's "The Bookworm"

Item Details

A giclee on paper reproduction of a painting after a piece by very well-listed German painter Carl Spitzweg (1808 – 1885), titled The Bookworm. The print depicts a man climbing a ladder in a library stacked with rows and rows of antique books, as he holds one open near his face. A tag to the verso gives Spitzweg’s name and the piece’s title, though this is not a print of Spitzweg’s actual piece — it is a print of a copy. The print is double-matted in beige linen and gold and is presented behind glass in a wooden frame with a hanging wire.
