Original Marcel Jacques Color Etching

Item Details

An original color etching by artist Marcel Jacque at the home of Rousseau in the forest community of Barbizon. Theodore Rousseau was a french painter of the Barbizon school who took up residence exclusively in Barbizon in 1848. Marcel Jacques made this etching of Rousseau’s home win 1951. The etching is double signed in plate and in pencil, and although the print is not editioned, this print is annotated thoroughly in the margins, a feature that likely makes it very unique.
