An exceptional New York landscape, titled ‘Farm on Staten Island’ by well listed painter Louis Delius (American, 19th century). A rare identified subject, housed in the original, elaborate gilt and gesso frame. The work is signed and dated to the lower right, and titled and dated on the canvas verso.

Delius worked extensively in New York and the surrounding area. He was best known for pastoral landscapes such as this.

Condition

- frame with several areas of missing gesso; canvas itself in excellent condition and in a cleaned state.
