An oil on canvas by Emily Burling Waite (American, 1887 – 1980) depicting a Naval lieutenant with dog. The red haired lieutenant is seated in dress uniform with double stripes below a gold star with his arm around a dog. The unframed canvas is signed ‘EMILY BURLING WAITE’ to the lower right in black.
