An original 1896 landscape etching on paper by an artist named Charles Gondel. The print depicts a buggy passing through a toll station structure in a stunning rural landscape. A small remarque of a figure in the buggy handing money to the toll collector is printed in-plate to the lower left. The print is signed in plate to the lower right. The print’s copyright information, reading, ‘Copyright 1896 by B.J. Babbitt, NY’ is printed to the upper right. The print is presented in a wooden frame with scrolled metal corner embellishments and non-glare glass. A hanging wire is attached to the piece’s verso.

Condition

- paper is quite yellowed and has some small tears to upper right corner. Significant scratching to upper left corner of frame.
