An original oil painting on canvas titled ‘Bertha’ by very well-listed American modernist Edgar Yaeger (Michigan, 1904 – 1997), executed in 1984. The painting depicts a woman in a red tank top and with a matching flower in her hair seated on a curious modern egg-like piece of furniture. Draped pink and green fabric creates a fluid background for her form, and she gazes straight from the frame towards the viewer. The painting is signed and dated to the lower right, and a gallery tag attached to the verso gives the piece’s title. Presented in a unique wooden frame with a crater-like dappled surface and beige finish. A hanging wire is attached to the verso.
