A chess board and pieces made by The House of Staunton. Includes The House of Staunton walnut and maple ‘Classical Tiroir’ chess board with two storage drawers. The board is labeled ‘The House of Staunton’ with makers mark on the bottom right corner square of the board surface. The board sits on four brass tone feet decorated with a foliate design and features two compartmentalized drawers lined with a black velvet. Each drawer opens with a disk shaped brass knob. The board also comes with the ‘Calvert’ faux ivory chess pieces and display case. The chess pieces are red and cream in color with alternative renderings of the traditional characters. The pieces are unmarked and come in a brown wooden box with a glass window on lid and four lightly colored wooden bun feet.
Condition
Minor scuffs on corners of board. Glass on storage box for pieces is dirty.
