An original 1941 oil painting on canvas board by well-listed Ohio artist Dora G. McCollister (1860-1945), titled Lowe’s Boat Yard, Sarasota, Florida. The painting depicts a boat yard in a swampy environment. A simple wooden boat house sits on one edge of a body of water, and tall grasses and plants grow with vigor across the scene. The painting is titled, initialed, and dated January 1941 to the verso. It is presented without matting or framing, awaiting your choice of presentation. McCollister graduated from the Columbus School of Art and Design in 1932 and was the first fine arts graduate of the Ringling College of Art and Design (Sarasota, Florida), in April 1937.
