1937 Shirayamadani Modeled Rookwood Pottery Mouse Paperweight

A 1937 Rookwood Pottery mouse figurine, one of the rarest and most desirable of the Rookwood paperweights. The mouse, modeled by Kitaro Shirayamadani, is in a mat off-white glaze, the small creature shown standing on its hind legs with front legs raised, with its tail curled upon a raised oval base. The piece is marked to the verso with the Rookwood Pottery flame logo, Roman numeral XXXVII and production number 6618.
