Tom Lohre Original Mixed Media Painting on Metal "Holidays on Ludlow III"

An original mixed media painting by Cincinnati artist Tom Lohre titled Holidays on Ludlow III. This painting, like many of Lohre’s works, is created with acrylic and oil paints as well as melted oil pastels applied with a machine. Lohre created a painting machine from a Lego Mindstorm Invention System, programming the machine to apply paint based on coordinating computer graphics. His methods have improved since his initial invention in 2003, and he has gone on to create impressive works of mixed media artwork, like this lovely piece. Created in a palette of 17 colors, Lohre worked on his nighttime painting skills in this work. Nocturnal tones pair well with bright hues of artificial light, bringing life to this ‘blob painting’. Signed by the artist to lower right, this work is presented in a gilt frame with seamless corners and a linen liner with gilt interior accent border. Hanging wire present to verso, as well as information about the artist and his fascinating techniques, signed again by the artist.
