An original painting on stretched canvas by Richard de Premare (Paris, 1963). The impressionistic painting illustrates a lively cafe scene in bright spring time hues, the paint being applied in loose strokes both impasto and other areas with a dry brush to create a sense of movement. Charming details abound, such as the iron balcony that peeks out between the trees at the top of the composition. The painting is signed in the lower right corner and has been professionally finished in a linen mat and gold carved wood frame by Closson’s Gallery in Cincinnati, Ohio. The painting was purchased in Paris at _Galerie Amyot, 1997. A poster personally inscribed and signed by the artist is included.
Richard de Premare was born in 1936 in Paris, he studied at the l’Atelier Helene Perrier, l’Academie Charpentier and l’Academie de la Grande Chaumiere. He is inspired by the French Impressionists then adds his own techniques to create a unique style. De Premare paints well known European cities such as Paris and Venice as well as the French countryside.
