"The Bookworm" Marquetry Hanging by Buchschmid & Grétaux
Item Details
A framed marquetry hanging by Buchschmid & Grétaux. This wood inlay piece is based on The Bookworm, a painting by Carl Spitzweg circa 1850. It depicts a man standing on a step ladder before a large bookshelf, holding books in each hand, under one elbow, and between his legs. It is signed ‘BG’ to the lower right and set in a wooden frame with D-ring hardware for hanging.
