A vintage signed limited edition serigraph by well-listed Austrian-born artist and designer, Herbert Bayer (Colorado/California; 1900 – 1985), titled Chromatic Twist, dated 1970. The image depicts a spectrum of light, separated into an optically convincing twisted arrangement, using only straight lines and triangular shapes of solid color against a metallic silver backdrop. Print is numbered 41 in an edition of 75 and signed by artist in pencil to lower left and right corners. Protected behind glass in a silver tone brushed metal frame. A label to the verso identifies artist, date, title and media. The work of Bayer is included in the permanent collections of numerous reputed galleries and museums, including the Amon Carter Museum of American Art; Denver Art Museum; Minnesota Museum of American Art; National Gallery of Berlin; Neuberger Museum of Art; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; The Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art; and Whitney Museum of American Art, among many more.

Condition

- to fair. Print has moisture damage in bottom portion, with distorted and rippled paper. Mitered corners of frame are separating. Finish of frame is scratched throughout.
