An original watercolor by listed artist Robert Humblot (1907 – 1962), signed to the bottom right hand corner with the date ’54 which puts this painting just eight years before his death. The artist has painted an image typical of his oeuvre. A grove of trees stands dead in a swampy field, a crow roosting alone in one of the trees. A beautiful watercolor with thick gestural line work and a pronounced modernist sensibility. The painting is presented in a gilt wood frame with a canvas edge to glass, and gold bevel.

Condition

Some mild wear, will benefit from a cleaning.
