Circa 1960s Louis XV Style Nightstands by Empire Furniture
Item Details
A pair of circa 1960s Louis XV style nightstands by Empire Furniture. The antique white-painted cases are embellished with gilt accents. They feature molded, serpentine tops above three stacked and machine-dovetailed drawers flanked by blind-paneled, cabinet doors. The fronts are fitted with scrolled, brass-toned pulls and the doors have fiche hinges. The nightstands rise on short cabriole legs joined by a scalloped front apron and ending in whorl feet. One drawer is stamped ‘Empire / Furniture’ and one of the backs is stenciled ‘No. 721 Night Table / Antique White / 2-66’. For related lots see 16LOU224-194 and 16LOU224-196.
