William Schinzel Oil Painting on Board Animal Still Life

An oil painting on board still life of fowl by listed artist William Schinzel (American, 19th century). This painting depicts four variety of game birds hanging from the upper portion of the canvas. The two birds with long bills appear to be a snipe or woodcock. The bird has white feathers along its underside with a grey tone on the head while a small yellow and black colored bird is placed near the top of the composition. It is signed to the lower left ‘W. Schinzel’. The piece is presented in a gold tone composite frame, to the verso, a horizontal hanging wire is installed. This piece coordinates with item number 16NYC998-195.
