Davis "Vertical Feed" Sewing Machine Stand Table

Item Details

A Davis Vertical Feed sewing machine stand table. This is an oak veneer topped table, with four rounded drawers, that rests on top of the vintage treadle sewing machine stand. The Davis Sewing Machine Company was in operation from 1868 to 1924. The company manufactured a Vertical Feed machine which used a walking foot to move the material under the needle and this machine design was produced until the 1890s when a conventional vibrating shuttle machine with four motion feed was introduced. The top of this table appears to have been added recently.
