Brian Halsey Signed Limited Edition Serigraph "Triaxon: 3rd State"
Item Details
A signed limited edition serigraph by well-listed geometric Op artist Brian Halsey (Indiana, born 1942), titled Triaxon: 3rd State, created in 1979. Circularly formatted, the image depicts a composition of orange, burnt sienna, and dark brown cubes and rectangular shapes arranged in an optically convincing pattern that creates the illusion of three-dimensional objects floating and coming forward in the pictorial space. Numbered 3 in an edition of 35, titled and signed by the artist in pencil along bottom margin. Printer blindstamp is embossed to the right of signature. The print is mounted behind white mat with hand-drawn geometric lines surrounding print, protected behind glass in a gold tone brushed metal frame. A hanging wire is attached to the verso. Halsey’s work is represented in numerous reputed galleries and museums, including the National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C.; Brooklyn Museum of Art; Denver Art Museum; Detroit Institute of Arts; Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco; Baltimore Museum of Art; Phoenix Art Museum; Indianapolis Museum of Art; McNay Art Institute, San Antonio, TX; the National Collection of Fine Arts, Smithsonian Institute, Washington D.C.; The Metropolitan Museum of Art, N.Y.; and National Museum of Modern Art Kyoto, Japan.
