Kitagawa Utamaro Ukiyo-e Woodblock "Tomimoto Toyohina"
Item Details
A Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock print by Japanese artist Kitagawa Utamaro (喜多川歌麿, circa 1753-1806). Printed during the late 18th century, the print is titled Tomimoto Toyohina (富本豊雛) and is from Utamaro’s series Renowned Beauties Likened to the Six Immortals (高名美人六家撰).
The artist’s ‘Utamaro hitsu’ (歌麿筆) is printed in-block alongside the Ōmi-ya Gonkurō publisher’s seal. Displayed behind glass, the print is presented in a black wooden frame with beige mat. Hanging hardware is attached to the verso.
Condition
Minor wear. Signs of discoloration to the print.
Dimensions
Measurement is for the frame. The print measures 10″ × 15″ through the front of the mat.
