Original Tom Lohre Oil on Gessoed T-Shirt

An original oil painting on a gessoed t-shirt by well listed Cincinnati artist Tom Lohre. This painting is entitled ‘Union Street Nantucket,’ and was painted in 1989. This painting was executed while ‘…Tom was the artist in residence at the James Hunt Barker Gallery. Normal dress code for openings was coat and tie. Miami Vice was the big hit on TV so Tom painted a local scene on a t-shirt and wore it to one of the openings. You never saw an artist make a faster change clothes once Mr. Barker saw Tom in the stylish garb’ (from attached notes on the verso). Tom is the inventor of the Lego Mindstorm painting machine, painted the eruption of Mt. Saint Helen, and was the first artist to paint a space shuttle from life. This is an absolutely lovely painting housed in an outstanding gilt wood frame. Signature to bottom right hand corner.
Condition
Some mild wear to frame.
