A painting of Nungwi Primary School in Zanzibar. This acrylic painting depicts school children in uniform amidst rush shacks and boats on the ocean in the background. Signed at lower right, ‘Mr. Niko 2004 Zanzibar.’ This artist paints in Tingatinga, which is a style named after the man who popularized the stylized, whimsical paintings. Unstretched and unframed.
Condition
Good to fair, canvas was stored rolled causing cracks in the paint, some minor fraying along the edges of the fabric
