Hiroyuki Tajima "Double Door" Signed Limited Edition Woodcut Print

A signed limited edition woodcut print titled, Double Door circa 1973, by Japanese printmaker from the Sōsaku-Hanga School, Hiroyuki Tajima (田嶋 宏行, 1911–1984). Tajima is known for his abstract woodblock prints that feature luminous colors, bold compositions, and a strong sense of balance inspired by his Zen Buddhist beliefs. This print depicts a large green rectangle with a teal top that is surrounded by a grey border and has several thin white and blue strips stacked side by side near the center. This piece has been pencil signed and dated in the lower right margin, with the edition number ‘50-16’ written in the center, and the title in the lower left margin. The print has a single white mat and is housed behind plexiglass in a simple metal frame with a wire for hanging to the verso.

Minor scratches to plexiglass and frame. Paper slightly rippled.
