Zao Wou-Ki "Sans Titre" Signed Limited Edition Aquatint Etching

A signed limited edition aquatint etching titled, Sans Titre circa 1967, by renowned Chinese-French painter Zao Wou-Ki (趙無極, 1920-2013), who is best known for merging Western and Eastern artistic traditions within his work. Drawn to abstraction and impressionism, Wou-Ki’s dramatic and boldly colored pieces express energy and movement. This print depicts an abstract scene with very dark tones, especially to the lower left margin, which has a palette comprised of mostly brown, grey, and black hues with a hint of light blue and yellow. This piece is numbered 61 out of an edition of 85 and is pencil signed and dated by the artist in the lower right margin. The print has a single white mat and is housed behind plexiglass in a simple metal frame with a wire for hanging to the verso.
