Antique Kentucky Long Rifle

Item Details

An antique Kentucky long rifle. This muzzle-loading firearm features a 35-inch hand forged octagonal barrel measuring approximately .40 caliber, front and rear iron sights and a maple stock with silver tone metal escutcheons. The ram rod guide, trigger guard and butt plate are all brass, and the etched butt stock compartment is copper. Behind the rear sight, the barrel is engraved ‘H. Carlile,’ and the silver tone escutcheon on the cheek piece displays and eagle clutching a shield and arrows.

Condition

Consistent with age. Percussion lock is broken off and not included. Stock is chipped by barrel, and one escutcheon is missing.
